Hello! (I hope I'm on the right place to ask this)
Well, the thing is, I have a LOT of RPG/ARPG tiles that I can't give any use to. These are from a job that didn't end up well, and as the commissioner didn't pay me, the files are all mine and I want to give them an use. I thought about licensing them for using in games, but I have more questions than answer about that.
What kind of licenses are there? Where can I read about them? It's enough that I say "these files have **** kind of license" to commit people to use the files in that way? Or what do I have to do to earn each kind of licenses? Also, the files need to be in a special filetype, or PNG works just fine?
Also, an important part is the pricing thing. I have 200+ tiles, including enemies, NPCs, character sprites (base), base clothing, objects, lots of weapons, some background and floor tiles. The character spritesheet and floor tiles are from a classic platform perspective, but everything else can work in any other perspective. I plan on expanding the set, having animations for every NPC and some objects that need it, completing the animations of the characters, adding personalization to the character, adding more tiles for floor/bg/houses/platforms/etc. How much would you pay for something like it, knowing that it lacks some tiles but that it will expand on time (and that you'll get the expansions)?
I found this site www.rpgmakerweb.com/
that has a lot of tiles for license, but I didn't gather that much information from there, other that the non-RM licenses are more expensive that the licenses made for use only in RPG maker.
I know these are a lot of questions, but I don't seem to find any leads to make things right. Thank you very much for reading, and if you can help me, thank you even more!
